Dr. Gerome: I personally don’t think it’s possible. I have had a couple of clients who have had them in their house, but at the same time, there are certain dogs like Yorkies that aren’t housebroken very well either and they just choose to live with it.
Tammy: Right.
Dr. Gerome: But I don’t personally think it’s possible. Plus they tend to like to go around and browse and chew on things, which means cords, couches, things like that. That’s their natural thing to do.
Tammy: Wicker.
Dr. Gerome: Wicker. Yeah wicker. I’m sure that they would really get…
Tammy: Gravitate there.
Dr. Gerome: Yeah.
Tammy: Yeah. Okay. So you really suggest that people keep them outside in an enclosed area with some kind of shelter.
Dr. Gerome: That’s where mine would be. Of course, you know, I wouldn’t have a pig in my house either.
Tammy: And there are people who do that.
Dr. Gerome: Yes there are.
Tammy: Because of the worm issue, I’m just curious because I know that when I ask about bedding with the breeders, it kind of goes all over the map what they use. Because of the worm issue, is there some…should you choose a particular kind of bedding for them?
Dr. Gerome: No actually the bedding won’t carry the worms at all, but it is really dirty bedding that may tend to contaminate the environment and that there’s gonna to be some worms down there on their feet and then they jump up into the hay or something like that. (Unintelligible). Your cleanliness is a lot more important than what kind of bedding there is.
Tammy: Okay. And so what do you suggest people use and how often should they clean it?
